Rev. Ira Acree has pastored the Greater St. John Bible Church on Chicago’s Westside for more than 25 years. He’s a tireless advocate for empowerment, championing principles of entrepreneurship, education, economics and evangelism. He has a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Illinois at Chicago, a Masters of Arts in Christian ministry from North Park Theological Seminary and a Doctorate of Ministry from Midwest Theological Institute. Most people know him from his social justice work within the Chicago’s activist community. Although writing books, leading his congregation and spending time with his family keeps him very busy,  Acree still has managed to stay at the forefront of justice on issues of local and national relevance for the last 15 years. He has two children, Marcus, and Nicole, and he’s been married to the former Miss Margaret Hill for 27 years.

He is the author of two books, the Man in the Mirror and In Pursuit of Mr. Right and a daily devotional called Forty Days of Praise. Acree also hosts a weekly telecast on CAN tv called “All Hands on Deck.”
